Delivery Scheduled for Medical Brazing Heat Treat Solution

Maciej Korecki
Vice President of Business of the Vacuum Furnace Segment
SECO/WARWICK

HTD Size-PR LogoA medical device manufacturer is set to receive a vacuum furnace for annealing and brazing processes at their plant in France. The parts processed in this furnace will include X-ray and radiotherapy equipment among other products that require high quality standards of heat treatment.

The vacuum furnace scheduled for delivery is called the Vector®. "[This furnace] has proven performance in many fields in precision industries such as aviation, automotive and medical branches," commented Maciej Korecki, vice president of the Vacuum Furnace Segment at SECO/WARWICK Group, and international heat treat systems supplier. Korecki continued, "This time, our partner is an expert when it comes to brazing complex components that require high precision."

The high-tech medical industry is one of the most demanding industries in terms of standards, procedures, and process parameters to be met by the equipment involved in the production process. Medical equipment components (e.g., RF components, X-ray tube components, ceramic components) are precision manufactured to the highest quality standards. This is because these components are used for processes that are decisive not only for the quality of treatment, but also for human life.

Michelin Acquires New Vacuum Furnace

HTD Size-PR LogoMichelin, a European tire manufacturer with technology centers in the U.S., will receive a new vacuum furnace from a global supplier with locations in North America. Tire manufacturing requires specialized tools; tools and dies used in production are heat treated in vacuum furnaces. The furnace, with a 16" x 16" x 24" heating chamber, will be used for gas hardening and will remove the need for third-party hardening.

Maciej Korecki
Vice President of Business of the Vacuum Furnace Segment
SECO/WARWICK

Michelin will receive a SECO/WARWICK Vector® vacuum furnace, enabling efficient hardening processes with the use of high pressure and cooling gas. “With a relatively low expenditure," explains Maciej Korecki, vice president of Business, Vacuum Furnace Segment at SECO/WARWICK, "the compact Vector vacuum furnace makes it possible to become independent from third parties. It also provides better control over the quality of heat-treated components and reduces the risk of delays which, as a result of lack of deliveries, slow down or obstruct manufacturing processes (tire manufacturing in this case)."

Heat Treater Meets EV Demands with New CAB Line

Vice President of the Aluminum Process and CAB Products Segment
SECO/WARWICK Group
Source: SECO/WARWICK

A continuous line for controlled atmosphere brazing (CAB) of large-dimension battery coolers will be installed at the plant of a European manufacturer of heat exchangers. This purchase is consistent with continental trends to invest in building supply chains for the manufacture of electric vehicles.

This is the second year in a row that the client is ordering CAB line from SECO/WARWICK, the Polish sister company to SECO/VACUUM in North America; this current commission will be the widest CAB line that the supplier has ever built. Its usable dimensions will allow the customer to manufacture large-dimensioned vehicle battery coolers at a mass scale. The dynamic growth of battery sales involves the growth of sales of other parts such as battery coolers. They are manufactured using highly-specialized continuous lines for controlled atmosphere brazing.

"Globally, we sell more and more CAB lines, which prove well in this industry," said Piotr Skarbiński, vice president of Business Segment Aluminum Process and CAB at SECO/WARWICK. "Our equipment is operated not only in Europe, but also in Asia and North America."
