PWR Advanced Cooling Technology has ordered two universal batch CAB furnaces and a CAB continuous line. The furnaces will be used for brazing aluminum heat exchangers. The 3 solutions will go to 2 continents – Australia and North America.

PWR Advanced Cooling Technology specializes in the production of modern and efficient heat exchangers and has used SECO/WARWICK Group furnaces in the past. Two furnaces, the continuous CAB line and Universal Batch CAB Furnace, will be delivered to production plants in Australia. The second chamber furnace will be delivered at the same time to the American branch of PWR, C&R Racing Inc.

The universal batch CAB furnace meets the requirements for protective atmosphere aluminum brazing technology (Nocolok®) and allows users to braze products in a horizontal or vertical position.  The continuous CAB line performs brazing in a protective atmosphere for mass production of various heat exchangers.

“We have already ordered the company’s furnaces twice, and the current contract, although more than 25 years have passed since the first order, is the best proof that we are satisfied with the product quality, cooperation, and after-sales service.” said Andi Scott from PWR Advanced Cooling Technology.

“The current contract is special because we will deliver different solutions simultaneously to two continents but to the same customer,” commented Sławomir Woźniak, CEO of the SECO/WARWICK Group.

Heat Treater Expands with Vacuum Furnace

HTD Size-PR LogoA Swiss commercial heat treater ordered a vacuum furnace. A system will increase the production capacity of their nickel and silver brazing processes.

Maciej Korecki
Vice President of Business of the Vacuum Furnace Segment
SECO/WARWICK

The SECO/WARWICK vacuum furnace helps with hardening larger size parts and significantly increases the efficiency of the current hardening plant. The furnace increases production. In the version ordered by the Swiss, a large working zone (36"X36"X48") with the potential to adjust to an oversized load utilizes the advantages of a round heating chamber.

“[With a] cooling capacity of 15 bar, it is possible to process parts that require very fast cooling . . . . Vector also allows the system to perform more difficult brazing processes with either nickel or silver," explains Maciej Korecki, vice president of the Vacuum Furnace Segment, at SECO/WARWICK Group. "This is our second installation with this partner. Previously, we delivered a solution from the SECO/WARWICK furnace family of a similar size, in a non-pressurized version."

2 Power Supplies Upgrade Heat Treat System

HTD Size-PR LogoA Pennsylvania heat treat supplier recently shipped and commissioned two power supplies used in a continuous brazing furnace for a tool manufacturing company. The new power supplies, rated 125 kW supply and 100 kW, were designed as direct replacements for a pair of existing, obsolete power supplies that continuously failed.

Magnetic Specialties, Inc's power supplies reduce furnace downtime and provide tighter regulation of the furnace temperature which delivers more consistent quality of the braze parts. The brazing furnace has silicon carbide heating elements, which increase in resistance as they age. To compensate for this, the output transformers feature a tapped secondary winding. As the elements age, the client can select a higher output voltage range via the tap switch. The client will use the metering feedback to know when the tap needs to be changed.
