Molten (liquid) metal is poured into a mold or form through a series of gates and risers to produce its intended shape. The different types of casting processes include: sand casting, investment casting, die casting, low pressure casting, centrifugal casting, gravity die casting, vacuum die, casting and squeeze die casting.
