The Path to Real-Time Compliance in Heat Treatment

The Path to Real-Time Compliance in Heat Treatment

Tuesday, September 10, 2026

2:00 p.m. EST

Heat treaters face increasing pressure to meet AMS2750 and Nadcap requirements while improving efficiency and reducing audit risk. Join Heat Treat Today and Watlow for an exclusive preview of Peter Sherwin's Furnaces North America technical presentation exploring the transition from post-process validation to real-time compliance. Learn how trusted process data, advanced measurement technologies, AI-assisted insights, and modern control solutions can improve process assurance and confidence in heat treatment operations. A live Q&A will follow the presentation. Attendees will also learn how these concepts can be put into practice using Eurotherm by Watlow control solutions, including the EPM Edge Process Management platform and Level 3 controller, and are invited to continue the conversation with live demonstrations at Furnaces North America.

Speaker:

Peter Sherwin, Director of Strategic Marketing, Watlow

Peter Sherwin is Director of Strategic Marketing at Watlow and a recognized thought leader in industrial process control, digitalization, and heat treatment. He partners with manufacturers to address the challenges of compliance, data integrity, and process optimization through advanced control technologies. Peter is a featured presenter at Furnaces North America 2026, where he will present on the path to real-time compliance in heat treatment through data, measurement, and AI.

Stop Blaming Operators: Optimize Your Furnace Atmosphere

Tuesday, September 29, 2026

2:00 PM EST

Heat treating success depends on more than time and temperature—furnace atmosphere control is the missing lever. In this webinar, we break down the critical role furnace atmosphere plays, and how poor control leads to oxidation, decarb, sooting, and inconsistent mechanical properties. You’ll see real-world examples of how optimized atmospheres reduce scrap, improve repeatability, and increase throughput. We’ll also show how you can validate changes before implementation using advanced lab testing—so you can improve quality, lower costs, and get more out of your furnace.

Speakers:

Dr. Liang He, Advanced Materials Processing R&D Engineer

Liang Hi, Advanced Material Processing R&D Engineer, is a member of the Advanced Technology team. He develops gas application technologies for the metals processing industry. His primary research includes simulation software development on predicting carburizing / carbonitriding processes, using cryogenic coolant for quenching, and Smart Technologies for furnace operations. Liang received his BS in mechanical engineering and PhD in materials science and engineering.

Steve Perret, Advanced Materials Processing Engineer

Steve Perret is a member of our Commercial Technology team with over 40 years of experience in metals processing. He brings proven value in helping customers strengthen quality assurance and traceability, leveraging deep expertise in CQI-9 standards to prevent costly defects and support root cause investigations. Steve specializes in smart manufacturing and digital integration, with a long track record of implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to connect equipment, optimize processes, and improve operational visibility.
