Jason started with HeatTek, Inc. in 2003 after obtaining a degree in Computer Science. Over the course of the next 5 years Jason’s thirst for knowledge of the oven & furnace manufacturing industry quickly moved him out of his initial IT role and into the R&D lab where he ran tests on products related to the electric motor industry. As Jason’s knowledge grew, he transitioned to other areas (e.g., the assembly floor, applications engineering and the engineering department). Jason eventually found himself in the service department where he spent a lot of time in customers’ plants learning about the variety of industries that utilize heat treat applications. Jason’s knowledge and ability to build relationships with customers by listening and acting quickly on their needs prepared him for a role in the outside sales team. Jason’s two mantras of “listen first” and “customer first”, as well as an excellent marketing plan helped HeatTek grow and develop the unique and profitable Metal Container Division of the business, garnering numerous client testimonials to his dedication and troubleshooting skills. Over a 10 year span, Jason’s focus and efforts drove HeatTek’s client base, its manufacturing diversification, and its securing the largest oven order ever placed in the can making industry — Jason sold 23 units to 1 new plant. Now, as the Director of Standards Business Unit for HeatTek, Jason mentors a young, talented applications engineer who has his same thirst for growth and knowledge. Whether it’s the long days on the road, the countless hours spent inside brutally warm can production facilities, or the late-night emails to ensure a customer is shown HeatTek’s commitment. Jason is an outstanding leader. He has not only led with his top-in-class performance, but also with patience, kindness, and humility. He is looked up to by many of his peers by his natural ability to lead, navigate tough situations, and rise to the occasion when the opportunity is presented.
