Jason Orosz – Heat Treat Today 40 Under 40

Name: Jason Orosz
Company: Nitrex
Position: President of Heat Treating Services, Nitrex

A third-generation member of the Orosz-Dennis family, Jason has tremendous heat treating experience and knowledge of more than 15 years in the heat-treating sector. From working on the shop floor in the family business to now being an executive in the world leader of heat treating solutions at Nitrex, Jason is responsible for the division of Heat Treating Services.

Armed with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, he began his career at age 22 in his father’s heat-treating plant as a process engineer. By 24, he had shifted over to process/recipe development and preventive maintenance. Throughout the next decade, he has worn many hats: undertaking various responsibilities in projects covering pyrometry, plant engineering, equipment specking, internal auditing and quality management assurance, key account management, business management, as well as P&L management. He was instrumental in doubling the size of the company’s facility, driving new business growth through acquisitions, and implementing new business practices to reduce downtime and increase equipment efficiency.

Today, at 37, Jason heads the Nitrex division that focuses on Heat Treating Services (HTS). Together with the new Nitrex executive team, he is part of the next-generation leadership that will support the next phase of the company’s growth and development.

More recent examples that testify to his resilient leadership include developing the company’s business continuity plan and employee safety program during the COVID-19 crisis, in addition to managing plant expansions currently underway in the U.S. and China. His knowledge of the business and the processes are a great asset to the company, but what makes him quite different than others in the industry are his leadership skills, based on servant leadership approach, making him a solid and mature leader despite his relatively young age.

His varied hands-on leadership roles in mid to large-size multinationals, coupled with his contributions to the growth of his family’s business and extensive knowledge of heat treating, are the reasons I and the entire HTS team worldwide are nominating Jason Orosz for the 40 Under 40 Class of 2020 distinction. He is a young champion in business and to his team.
