ITPS 2017 Ends, Messe Dusseldorf Looks Forward to 2019 Trade Fairs

ITPS 2017, the second International Thermprocess Summit, held at the InterContinental Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany, concluded successfully on June 28. About 120 executives from Europe and the U.S. participated in the high-quality lecture program focusing on current issues in the thermoprocess industry, exchanged information and ideas, and established business contacts. A show with international exhibitors was also part of ITPS 2017. The two-day event was jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf, the VDMA Metallurgy Trade Association, the European thermoprocess association CECOF, and the Vulkan Verlag publishing company (“heat processing” magazine).

The summit addressed general economic, industrial policy, and environmental topics–with the keynote address by Prof. Dr. Ulrich von Weizsäcker. The presentations and panel discussions “Industry 4.0” and “Internet of Things” attracted particular interest with lively discussions

The success of ITPS 2017 is a result of this combination of specialized topics, general aspects, and practical examples from the wide range of different application areas. “With its combination of specific and general content, the program was very balanced. Any necessary improvement relates mainly to an increase in the number of visitors from such application areas as the automotive and steel industries,” said Dr. Peter Wendt, Vice President Sales at LOI Thermprocess GmbH.

ITPS plays an important role in its function as a networking platform. “For me, ITPS 2017 was an excellent opportunity to make many interesting new business contacts. At this level, it was better than I expected,” confirmed Dr. Clemens Franz, Manager Process and Materials Technology, Mercedes-Benz Cars.

The organizers of ITPS 2017 were also pleased with the results. Stephan Schalm, from the executive board of Vulkan Verlag, stated: “The good feedback we have received here over the two days confirms the approach of ITPS. We are now looking forward to the next industry summit during the THERMPROCESS trade fair at the Düsseldorf exhibition center from June 25 – 29, 2019.” In 2018, the thermoprocess industry will meet at ITPS Americas.
