Robert Perugini joined General Heat Treating at 19 years old looking for a job while finishing his engineering degree. Eight years later, he is preparing to become the company’s operations and logistics manager after building a reputation for hard work, technical curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.

Robert’s career has taken him through virtually every department in the company. Starting with maintenance, cleaning, and work preparation, he steadily expanded his responsibilities by learning vacuum heat treat, salt bath processing, shipping and receiving, and client service. That hands-on experience has given him a broad understanding of the business and a deep appreciation for how every department contributes to overall performance.

Never content to stop learning, Robert is pursuing his Heat Treat Management Specialist certification through the Metal Treating Institute while continuing to broaden his engineering knowledge. He works closely with the company’s ISO representative to better understand quality systems and has applied that knowledge to improve organizational processes, productivity, and operational efficiency. His contributions have included developing a new online request-for-quote system and helping strengthen the company’s digital presence through its website and LinkedIn page.
