Steve Pasker earned a degree in Architecture and Construction Technology, but quickly realized he was not meant to sit eight hours behind a desk at a computer screen. He discovered heat treat was his passion, and the rest is history.

Steve began his time at Advanced Heat Treat Corp. as a part time employee while attending college. A fast learner, Steve was one of the few part time employees to earn the additional responsibility of equipment operation and training other part time employees. After Steve became a full time operator at AHT, he soon progressed to heat treat technician, then to senior heat treat technician. He showed mastery in both his roles as a leader and as a supervisor.

Today, he oversees a furnace line which includes services like carburizing, carbonitriding, normalizing, through hardening, annealing, and stress relieving. Steve is the main point of contact for customer communication regarding these services and always ensures deadlines are met. Steve is an instrumental part of training new employees on processes, equipment, and troubleshooting. Steve has grown up within AHT, learned by doing, and is an expert who can help to ensure customer parts come out perfectly every time.

Rene Cerda began his academic career at FIME, UANL Mèxico (Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León) by pursuing mechanical and electrical engineering with a focus in mechanical design. He continued his education by earning a master’s degree in Materials Engineering and later finished with a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering, FEM, and heat treatment and forging.

Rene, leading the industry as a professor and teacher, has been a critical member of engineering projects at SISAMEX — SISTEMAS AUTOMOTRICES DE MEXICO S.A. DE C.V. With over 10 years of experience working with ferrous metallurgy, forging, heat treat, and process development, Rene uses his rich engineering background and practical project management experience as the project development metallurgist at FRISA. He is skilled in Kaizen, 5S, and CQI-9. Additionally, Rene has experience with process simulations using commercial packaging and has implemented a new production line of heat treating under CQI-9 agreements.
