Sergio Gallegos Cantú is a seasoned metallurgist with 13 years of experience in heat treatment, currently serving as global senior metallurgist at Quaker Houghton’s Heat Treatment Center of Innovation in Philadelphia. After earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Materials Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, he joined the company in 2018 as a product application manager in Mexico, providing technical support for heat treat clients across the region.

Since relocating to the U.S. in 2022, Sergio has led global R&D efforts focused on developing and testing quenchants for a variety of heat treatment processes. He also manages the company’s metallography lab and contributes expertise in simulation, CFD modeling, failure analysis, and experimental design. A frequent collaborator with universities and an active technical author, Sergio continues to shape the future of heat treatment through innovation and global knowledge-sharing.
