Perla Iris Huazano began her academic career at the Technological Institute of Morelia in the field of materials engineering. She continued her academic growth by completing an internationally recognized graduate degree in metallurgy from CINVESTAV. Now serving as a senior heat treatment process engineer at GRUPO ETSA, Perla has eight years of experience spanning metallurgy and heat treatment.

Perla’s experience covers a wide range of thermal processes, including hardening, carburizing, bainitic hardening, and induction hardening. She leads heat treatment recipe design, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring optimal metallurgical properties and product performance. Responsible for heat treatment and quality process, she leverages her expertise in safety and quality to carry out documentation updates, process improvements, new product launches, and support of the metallurgy laboratory.

Perla combines deep technical knowledge with hands-on expertise in process development, failure analysis, and quality control. Certified in NDT Level II for magnetic particle inspection and nital etching, she also has experience with eddy currents, Barkhausen noise analysis, and penetrant liquids.

She also applies CQI-9 and CQI-14 standards, Six Sigma tools, and lean manufacturing principles to further develop her leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills. Perla works closely with clients and teams to improve processes, uphold safety, and drive quality in the heat treat industry.
