Matt Geddes has dedicated over 13 years to the heat treat industry, steadily rising through the ranks at Detroit Flame Hardening Company. Starting as a flame hardener in 2012, Matt quickly advanced to plant manager in 2019, then general manager in 2023, and most recently was promoted to regional operations manager in 2025. He now oversees operations at both the Detroit and Cincinnati locations and has plans to continue his upward trajectory by completing MTI’s YES program in the future.

His expertise in flame hardening, leadership, and quality standards has been a cornerstone of his company’s reputation for precision and reliability. Under his leadership, the heat treat department has consistently exceeded production targets while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
