Carlos Torres has been in the heat treat industry in Mexico for more than 15 years, where he runs MATTSA, a furnace manufacturing company, as well as other heat treat operations. He is also responsible for the growth of a division of a company known worldwide and dedicated to the instrumentation and controls for the heat treat industry. He has been involved in many startup projects, including a greenfield operation manufacturing heat treat equipment, relocating existing furnace lines, and upgrading and maintaining state-of-the-art heat treat departments of multinational companies such as Caterpillar, AAM, DANA, MAGNA, ThyssenKrupp. He has started two commercial heat treat companies, one certified in ISO 9000-AS 9100 in 2009 with two active locations and one in review. His plans include growing to a state-of-the-art commercial heat treater with three locations by 2021. Carlos has worked on the development of an SCADA KAMBAN Production System for real time tracing and traceability of heat treat parts. He is a 2013 graduate of MTI YES program and Production Management for 5S/Kaizen Facilitator Training Course in OSAKA in Japan 2015. An active Member of MTI and IHEA, he regularly presents on heat treating processes and technology, and he is the main organizer and sponsor of the ExpoTermicos Mexico for 8 consecutive times (Mexico's Heat Treat Show).
