Commercial Heat Treating Company Announces Rebrand of U.S. Businesses

A global provider of specialized thermal processing, surface treatment, and material coating solutions, announced in March 2022 that its U.S.-based businesses will be rebranding.

The U.S-based businesses included in this phase of Aalberts surface technologies' rebranding initiative include Aalberts Surface Treatment, Precision Plating Company, Roy Metal Finishing, Ushers Machine and Tool, Accurate Brazing, Ionic Technologies, Applied Process, and Premier Thermal.

Rebranding activities began in early 2022 and will continue through 2023.  The activities will include changes to building signs, email addresses, websites, invoices, shipping documents, etc.  Communication with stakeholders is underway, including any required documentation updates.

Dutch Heat Treat Technology Group Acquires Michigan Heat Treating Company

A Michigan-based heat treatment operation specializing in salt quenching and austempering recently announced that it has been acquired by a leading surface technology company.

In the 100% acquisition, Applied Process of Livonia, Michigan, will join the Material Technology group within Aalberts N.V. (Aalberts), a Dutch industrial technology company which operates in over 50 countries. The Material Technology group offers a unique combination of advanced heat and surface treatment technologies utilizing a global network of service locations with excellent local knowledge to customers active in general industries, automotive, aerospace and power generation.

Austempering Heat Treatment Expands into Arkansas

A Michigan-based company that specializes in austempering heat treatment technology recently announced expansion plans that will include a 51,000-square-foot heat treatment plant in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

The new location for Applied Process, Inc., will contain six furnaces and is expected to be fully operational in the 3rd quarter of 2018 to serve their customers in the automotive, agriculture, aerospace, heavy truck, railroad, mining sectors, as well as the military, throughout the Midwest and South. The company’s plants in Livonia, Michigan, and Oshkosh, Wisconsin, will remain in operation, the latter housing the world’s largest integral quench batch austempering furnace which is capable of austempering parts up to 20,000 lbs. in weight.

Rusty Rainbolt, who has been with Applied Process for three years on the sales team, will be plant manager at the Fort Smith site.
